Overview
The Philosophy Program at Utah State University invites applications for a 1-year teaching Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow for the academic year 2026-27, beginning in August 2026 and ending in May 2027. AOS and AOC are open, and the teaching load is 3 courses each semester. Courses will include lower-division sections of Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics, an upper-division course in metaphysics or epistemology, and an upper-division course in AI Ethics. In their applications, candidates should include a cover letter, a CV, and a list of three references. Please note that the Philosophy Program is housed within the Department of History at USU. Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of Philosophy courses, including Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics, AI Ethics, and a course in the area of Metaphysics and Epistemology.
  • Expected teaching load of 3-3.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD in Philosophy (prior to August 2026).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach a variety of Philosophy courses.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Willingness to contribute to the life of the department.
  • Ability to teach courses that fit our program's curriculum.
