As a Cybersecurity Operations Manager, you will lead Smithfield's Security Operations Center (SOC), overseeing threat detection, response, and monitoring activities that safeguard our information assets and business operations. You will be responsible for managing security technologies, coordinating blue team response efforts, and ensuring the effective execution of cybersecurity controls and processes. You will play a key role in building and maturing the organization's adaptive defense capabilities through collaboration, proactive risk mitigation, and operational excellence. By leading a team of talented security professionals, you will help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Smithfield's global IT environment while driving continuous improvement across cybersecurity operations. Security Operations Leadership: Lead and manage the Security Operations Center (SOC), overseeing day-to-day cybersecurity monitoring, detection, and response activities that safeguard the organization's IT and OT environments. Incident Management & Response: Serve as Incident Commander for critical cybersecurity events, ensuring timely coordination, communication, and recovery efforts to minimize business impact. Threat Detection & Mitigation: Oversee continuous threat detection, analysis, and mitigation efforts while ensuring alignment with emerging adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). Collaboration & Communication: Partner with cross-functional IT and business teams to communicate cybersecurity risks, response strategies, and performance metrics effectively across all organizational levels. Process Improvement: Develop and enhance SOC processes, playbooks, and procedures to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in detection and response capabilities. Technology & Tools Management: Manage and optimize enterprise security technologies, ensuring the effective operation of SIEM, EDR, threat intelligence, and incident response platforms. Training & Development: Mentor and train SOC analysts and incident responders, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous skill development within the team. Metrics & Reporting: Track and report SOC performance metrics (KPIs and KRIs) to leadership and utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and improve outcomes. Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with external security partners and service providers to ensure effective delivery of managed security services and solutions. Leadership: Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.

Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Leadership & Management: Minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience, including team development/ management, cross-functional collaboration or project leadership in cybersecurity operations. Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of security operations, threat detection, incident response, and network packet analysis with hands-on experience in enterprise SIEM and EDR tools. Frameworks & Compliance: Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, PCI, SOX, HIPAA, and GLBA. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, situational awareness, and the ability to manage multiple complex security incidents under pressure. Communication & Influence: Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts into clear, actionable language for executives and technical teams. Collaboration & Vendor Management: Proven success managing relationships with third-party vendors, managed security service providers, and internal IT/business partners. Adaptability & Innovation: Proactive leader who adapts to evolving threats and technologies while driving process improvements and strategic innovation.
