North American Scout (Part Time)

OVERVIEW

St. Louis City SC is seeking a highly motivated North American Domestic Scout to support the club's player identification strategy across North American leagues and competitions. This role is ideal for a developing scout looking to grow within a progressive, data-informed scouting environment. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of the North American market across multiple levels-both domestically and internationally-along with an established network and the ability to evaluate matches and players through both live and video scouting environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Identify and evaluate players across North American leagues, including MLS, MLS NEXT Pro, USL Championship, USL League One, Canadian Premier League (CPL), college soccer, and youth competitions (domestic and international)

* Attend live matches, regional showcases, and national tournaments as required

* Conduct detailed video scouting and produce structured player reports aligned with club processes

* Maintain positional shortlists in line with club needs and game model

* Collaborate closely with the Director of Scouting through regular communication and reporting

* Leverage existing network to generate insights, conduct background checks, and uncover emerging talent

* Monitor player development trends and market dynamics across domestic competitions

QUALIFICATIONS

* 2-3 years of scouting experience within North American soccer markets

* Strong understanding of domestic player pathways and league structures

* Demonstrated ability to assess players both live and via video

* Established network within North American soccer (clubs, agents, coaches, academies) * Proven ability to produce game and individual player reports guided by the Director of Scouting

* Proficiency with scouting platforms and video tools * Willingness and ability to travel as required
