Reporting to the SVP, Total Rewards and HR Operations, coordinates the preparation of budgets, tracks performance and reports results for individual cost centers and/or business areas. Provides financial support to the business, including but not limited to cost accounting, revenue recognition, financial management, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow management (to include timely unbilled analysis/reconciliations). Interfaces regularly with senior leaders, cost center owners and project managers with local finance responsibility. Supervises employees engaged in finance/accounting activities. Prepares executive-ready broad department financial summaries for the Chief Human Resources Officer. Proposes, designs and activates higher-order financial processes across the HR cost center owners.

Primary responsibilities
- Analyzes and interprets financial data and recommends changes to improve performance.
- Conduct monthly/quarterly analysis to make forecasts and report to leaders
- Plans and implements budgeting, internal audit, and financial forecasting procedures and makes specific recommendations.
- Research technical accounting issues and provide recommendations for solutions. Review accounts, investigate variances and set recovery plans.
- Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
- Streamlines financial reporting for operations efficiency.
- Proposes, designs , tests and executes systems and mechanics to increase the sophistication of the finance function within HR.
- Works with Finance to translate finance decisions, guidance, and strategic decisions to HR leaders.
- Establishes effective communication mechanisms and repositories for HR cost center information and required Finance data.
- Communicates and cascades finance information across HR, including budget preparation, process changes, and management of underlying records and documents such as access and distribution lists.
- Creates quarterly projections using trends and insights from leaders.
- Provides HR-wide financial reporting and budget analysis proactively and upon request.
- Delivers finance and budget literacy and procedural training for cost center owners and their delegates.
- Prepares executive-ready reports for Chief of Staff and CHRO consumption.
- Troubleshoots and resolves financial, technical, and process matters pertaining to HR cost centers.
- Supervises the financial team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Required education and experience
- Bachelor's Degree Finance, Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Bachelor's Degree Business
- 5-7 years experience working as a Financial Analyst, Budget Analyst or Accountant
- 3-5 years experience in a accounting or finance role within a large healthcare organization
Required skills, knowledge and abilities
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong hands on technical skills (US GAAP, financial systems, FP and A, cost accounting, cash flows) with strong operational orientation.
- Strong business acumen, especially in the areas of finance processes and systems.
- Demonstrated experience conveying complex information in visually compelling ways, to individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of and adherence to pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication as well as sound interpersonal skills demonstrated with individuals with various levels of financial acumen.
- Good analytical and mathematical skills.
