Description

The primary role of Crew Member-Shakeout is responsible for shaking out the molds until the sand is separated from the casting, review and follow the schedule for next day's ram, and transport finished molds to the finishing department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include the following. Other duties will be assigned as deemed necessary by operations & staff management):



  • Make lifts in a safe manner following the signals of the groundman.
  • Must know crane capacity and responsible ensuring that capacities are not exceeded.
  • Able to maneuver the crane to hook and unhook beams, chains, cables, hooks, magnets and other lifting devices used in the production process.
  • Operate crane to coordinate and station product according to schedule. Maintain proper levels of sand on shakeout deck and in bins.
  • Complete daily inspection of crane using EEC Crane Inspection Procedure.
  • Load sand into shakeout deck as needed. * Assist in troubleshooting sand system.
  • Interface with production personnel on sand issues.
  • Adhere to all Crane Safety requirements.
  • Must adhere to all housekeeping and safety standards, including the required use of personal protective equipment.
  • Must learn and perform production duties within the assigned departments when necessary.


Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:



  • Must be able to work off shift hours, flexible hours and mandatory overtime.
  • Trained and Certified in the operation of Overhead Cranes by EEC approved in-house program.
  • Able to meet vision requirements for Crane Operators.
  • Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Willing to be trained and certified in the operation of mobile equipment.


Skills and Abilities



  • Good oral communication skills.
  • Good recordkeeping skills
