Description

Currently, RG is looking to hire a Depot Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (SME). The Depot Maintenance SME is an exempt customer-facing business professional that provides a variety of services directly to customers for their ongoing programs, new initiatives, strategic planning, and measurement/evaluation in one or more of RG's solutions. This role is critical to shaping and optimizing enterprise-level Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) strategies, ensuring alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) objectives and Navy readiness goals.

Additionally, the Depot Maintenance SME will:



  • Provide Depot maintenance process expertise, data mapping, relevancy review, etc.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and technical authority for the Navy Fleet Readiness Center (FRC), leveraging extensive leadership experience within Navy aviation depot operations.


Required Skills

They possess excellent customer service skills, remain current on industry trends, value teamwork and productivity and have a wide range of interpersonal skills. They will also have:



  • Strategic Roadmap Development: Ability to translate business objectives into a multi-year technology strategy.
  • Overhaul & Rebuild Protocols: Expertise in DMWRs (Depot Maintenance Work Requirements) or equivalent technical specifications
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Managing thousands of line items to ensure no "work-stoppage" occurs due to a missing 50-cent seal.
  • Obsolescence Management: Finding creative engineering solutions or alternative sourcing for parts that are no longer manufactured.
  • Reverse Engineering: The ability to work with engineers to recreate components from legacy systems when original blueprints are unavailable.
  • Throughput Optimization: Using Lean Six Sigma or Theory of Constraints (TOC) to identify bottlenecks in the "induction-to-delivery" pipeline.
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS): Deep familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 (Aerospace) standards to ensure every bolt turned is documented and compliant.
  • EHS Leadership: Expert-level knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) standards regarding hazardous materials, heavy lifting, and industrial noise.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): The ability to lead "mishap investigations" or "failure analysis" to determine why a component failed prematurely and how to prevent it across the fleet.

Qualifications

Required Experience

To be successful in this role, all candidates must meet the below qualifications to be considered.



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 10+ years of Department of Defense Depot Maintenance experience
  • Ability to operate effectively in remote/hybrid team environments
  • Ability to travel 5% to Jacksonville, FL and/or Fairfax, VA
  • Ability to obtain a NACI
