The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in equipment and process engineering with a passion for innovation, ensuring seamless integration of automation, precision, and efficiency in battery cell production.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the deployment, validation, and continuous optimization of automated battery cell assembly equipment (e.g., filling, welding, dispensing, inspection, cleaning, handling)
  • Drive equipment performance improvement through root-cause analysis (5 Whys, 8D, DMAIC)
  • Partner with Process, Maintenance, and Automation teams to ramp new cell designs and materials to full production with high yield and low downtime
  • PLC/HMI logic tuning, robotics performance, and mechanical/electrical system reliability
  • Apply GD&T, experimental design (DOE), and statistical process control (SPC) to validate process stability and reduce variation
  • Optimize conveyance, robotic handling, vision inspection, and automated welding systems for speed, precision, and repeatability

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in high-volume, automated manufacturing environments, preferably in EV battery or with high-speed precision manufacturing systems
  • Proven track record in equipment launch, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and OEE improvement on complex, integrated production lines
  • Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering (BS degree required; advanced degree a plus)
  • Deep hands-on experience with industrial control systems (Siemens PLCs, Beckhoff TwinCAT), industrial robotics (Fanuc/ABB), and integrated automation systems including vision inspection (2D/3D), electrical interconnection, and automated material handling
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-system equipment failures under fast-paced production demands
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, you thrive in cross-functional teams
