Senior Buyer (Hybrid)

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

This position supports and facilitates purchasing activities for the Bank including, identifies and implements best practices for purchasing processes, inventory control and quality assurance. Responsible for executing orders with suppliers under existing contracts, reseller agreements. Ensures adherence to product specifications and standards throughout all purchasing activities. Supports special initiatives through purchasing expertise. Provides support and mentor less experienced associates in the group.

Warehouse Inventory Management- Manages warehouse of unique office products, print materials, and specialty items for business units, including management of inventories and records.

• Manage the inventory of goods maintained by external warehouse
• Ensure items are reordered, replenished and delivered in time to meet business operation needs
• Conduct physical inventory audits at offsite warehouse
• Maintain a clean inventory tracker

Supplier Management - Facilitates supplier management through ongoing review of supplier service and performance. Resolves the more complex supplier issues as reported or expedited by either suppliers or Bank associates. Solicits, reviews supplier quotes to achieve competitive pricing among approved suppliers.

• Manage supplier relationships (e.g. office supplies, shipping material & warehouse)

Purchasing - Purchases necessary items for business and projects through existing supplier contracts and reseller agreements. Monitors and maintains product standards established by business owners to ensure consistent product quality. Investigate and address any purchase or ordering problems.

• Review contract pricing, key terms, payment schedule to prepare purchase requisitions for purchase orders (PO)
• Understand accounting general ledger coding to include on POs
• Process PO change requests per contract amendment terms
• Submit purchase requests for commonly used business/bank branch items through existing supplier contracts or reseller agreement
• Support software orders for bank associates' desktop/laptop

Peer Leadership - Mentors less experienced associates, provide procurement related support for internal business owners

• Support the implementation of procurement operations strategies, while also identifying and supporting the execution of process improvements
• Assist business owners on procurement process/system related needs

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Purchasing OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Purchasing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to document and track processes effectively, to ensure auditability.
• Experience in using a procure to pay software system
• Strong organization skills, attention to details in completing tasks accurately
• Self-directed, able to support business needs with minimal supervision, following procurement standards and desktop procedures
• Product Knowledge of banking/branch supplies is preferred.
• Understanding of contract terms and conditions
• Communicate professionally
• Warehouse inventory management
• Ability to build healthy working relationships with business owners, team members in US and offshore

Preferred Area of Experience: Indirect Materials Purchasing and Supply Chain Management

License or Certification Type: ISM- CPSM Required, ISM- CPSD Preferred, International Association of IT Asset Managers- ITIAM

Preferred Skill(s): Excel proficiency, Software Asset Management, Inventory Management
