JOB MISSION:

This team is responsible for applying AI and automation across the company to improve internal workflows, decision-making, and operational efficiency across a wide range of business functions, including operations, supply chain, finance, product, and corporate services.

A core focus of this role is designing and building enterprise-grade automation using agentic AI systems-software agents that can plan, coordinate tools, interact with systems, and execute multi-step workflows with appropriate guardrails. These approaches are becoming an important part of modern enterprise software architectures, particularly for scaling automation responsibly across complex organizations.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional partners, data and platform teams, and other engineers to design, implement, and deploy AI-enabled systems that are reliable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.

This position requires on-site work in Brighton, MA three days per week.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to understand workflows and identify high-impact opportunities for AI-driven automation.

  • Design and develop Python-based services and applications that support enterprise AI and agentic automation use cases.

  • Architect and build APIs and integrations that connect AI systems with internal platforms, tools, and data sources.

  • Lead or contribute to the design of agentic AI workflows, orchestration layers, and evaluation strategies.

  • Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code following modern software engineering best practices.

  • Review code, provide technical guidance, and contribute to shared engineering standards.

  • Evaluate emerging AI and automation technologies and make informed recommendations for adoption.

  • Support deployment, monitoring, and iteration of AI-enabled solutions in production environments.

REQUIREMENT FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 5-7 years of professional software engineering experience.

  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production-grade applications or services.

  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including system design, testing, and version control.

  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.

  • Exposure to AI, machine learning systems, or AI-enabled applications (deep research background not required).

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical partners.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, outcome-oriented mindset.
