You will be instrumental in evaluating complex financial factors, preparing comprehensive reports, and providing critical insights that drive strategic decisions. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to meet customer requirements with competitive pricing and innovative solutions, fostering growth and ensuring the financial health of our programs.

Responsibilities



  • Recommends and communicates competitive pricing to meet customer requirements.
  • Reviews contracts and certificates, collaborating with internal teams to evaluate the ability to match plans for takeover.
  • Utilizes strong knowledge of manual rating systems and experience, provider, and management reporting data to inform pricing decisions.
  • Negotiates with internal sales and account management teams to prepare offers for new and existing business. May connect with external partners and clients as needed to resolve risk, plan, and rating concerns.
  • Manages the administrative processing of cases, utilizing various underwriting tools, systems, and databases to complete evaluations.
  • Ensures effective documentation and communication of all underwriting decisions.
  • Demonstrates strong time management, organizational, and desk management skills.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching to develop technical skills for others, supporting team growth, and conducts training for sales and/or underwriting staff as needed.
  • Participates in project work focused on developing or improving underwriting processes.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or comparable experience.
  • 5 or more years of underwriting experience with experience-rated groups, coupled with financial analysis and risk analysis expertise.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk pool management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.


Nice-to-Have Qualifications



  • Master's Degree.
  • Experience with other lines of group coverage, such as Life and Disability benefits.
