Job Summary
Northwestern University is searching for an Investment Manager to join its Investment Office. The Investment Office is looking for a "best athlete" that has the intellectual curiosity and work ethic to make contributions across a number of different dimensions including manager selection, security selection, portfolio construction, and risk management. The Investment Office will prioritize individuals that demonstrate strong collaboration skills and the ability to respond flexibly to evolving team priorities. The Investment Manager will also play a key role in building the future team of the Investment Office through engagement with our Analyst and Internship programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and build upon existing investment manager relationships with a partnership orientation
Source and evaluate potential investment opportunities across asset classes and geographies with a primary focus on manager selection
Opportunistically evaluate co-investments, continuation vehicles and other forms of direct investment
Contribute to portfolio construction and risk management including asset allocation and exposure identification and management
Participate in our investment team meetings and decision-making across all asset classes
Prepare and present formal written communications to the Investment Committee
Travel frequently to meet with investment managers and conduct on-site due diligence
Participate in Analyst and Intern hiring and management while serving as a role model

Minimum Qualifications
Collaborative, team-first approach
Highest level of integrity, innate curiosity, intellectual capability, and professionalism
Excellent analytical skills and a comfort with statistics and financial math
5 to 7 years of relevant work experience at a high-performing institutional investor
Comfort in exploring and adopting new technologies to improve the decision-making process of the Investment Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's Degree with strong academic performance
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications, Skills)
Working Conditions
Onsite office requirement four times a week.
Target hiring range for this position will be between $160,000-180,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Position will also participate in a performance based annual bonus pool.
