Job Overview

PCXCorporation is seeking a skilled Cycle Counter to join our Warehouse team. This position will be based in Knightdale, North Carolina.


PCX Corporation is the leading integrator of engineered and pre-fabricated electrical/mechanical systems for the modular data center, commercial and industrial markets. Our product offerings include but are not limited to Modular Data Centers, Power Equipment Centers, Custom Integrated Switchboards, and pre-manufactured indoor/outdoor electrical distribution centers. We are seeking an innovative and talented professional to join our team.


The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records within a data center warehouse environment. This role performs routine and ad hoc cycle counts of IT hardware, networking equipment, spare parts, and consumables while ensuring inventory accuracy for mission-critical operations. The Cycle Counter works closely with warehouse, logistics, and technical teams to resolve discrepancies and support operational readiness.

A Day In The Life

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of data center inventory, including:



  • Servers, racks, network equipment, and components
  • Cabling, optics, power supplies, and spare parts
  • Validate inventory accuracy across SAP, and physical locations
  • Investigate, document, and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Reconcile inventory adjustments in compliance with internal controls
  • Maintain accurate labeling, location control, and asset tracking
  • Support audits by providing accurate count data and documentation
  • Escalate recurring discrepancies or process gaps to management
  • Adhere to data center safety, security, and access control requirements
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and change management protocols
  • Assist with inventory organization and housekeeping (5S standards)
  • Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and deployment teams as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of inventory, warehouse, or logistics experience (data center or technology environment preferred)
  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation
  • Familiarity with WMS, ERP, or inventory tracking systems
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory tools
  • Ability to work in a secure, controlled-access environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in warehouse aisles and equipment storage areas
  • Ability to work in Clayton, when needed


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in a data center, IT, or high-tech warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of asset tagging, serial number tracking, and part-level inventory
  • Familiarity with ISO, SOX, or internal audit requirements
  • Ability to operate forklift and all other material handling equipment
  • Knowledge of SAP. Microsoft Excel desired
