84 Lumber is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Production Associates at our truss manufacturing facility in Oxford, GA.

This full-time, entry-level position is responsible for assembling building material components and wood trusses used in residential and commercial construction. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment and are committed to quality craftsmanship.

Experience in construction, framing, carpentry, roofing, landscaping, warehouse, manufacturing, concrete, plumbing, painting, or general labor is a plus-but we are willing to train motivated individuals who are eager to learn a skilled trade.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble wood trusses and building material components
  • Use hand tools, power tools, nail guns, and measuring devices safely
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Maintain production, quality, and safety standards
  • Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior construction, carpentry, manufacturing, or truss experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Schedule

1st Shift

  • Monday-Friday
  • 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed

Pay

  • Starting Pay: $17/hour + incentive bonuses
  • Employees receive $0.25 raises after 3, 6, and 12 months, and annually thereafter

Uniform Requirements

    • Khaki-colored work pants
    • Work boots

Responsibilities

Inserting or positioning materials, clamping, splicing, fitting parts by hand and with power tools, and verifying dimensions of cut material by following supervisor's instructions, blueprint specifications, and the cut sheet layout.

Using a hammer to place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints.

Quality control of assembled items, proposing process improvements when applicable to increase efficiency.

Following prioritized production list assigned by Assembler Lead and using assigned press stations to place and press plates on appropriate lumber.

Fulfilling daily machine and area cleanup procedures.


Qualifications

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one

Ability to read and understand simple diagrams, blueprints, and a tape measure

Ability to work 10-12 hours shifts and lift up to 80 pounds

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
