The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion. We are located on Route 1 at 1069 Broadway Saugus, MA 01906. At this practice, we provide Primary Care services and Endocrinology. Our physicians specialize in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine.
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to work 8-hour shifts between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm.
This role is at a busy primary care practice, staffed by 7 Medical Assistants, 3 nurses, 5 primary care physicians, 3 nurse practitioners, and front desk staff. While the practice includes some specialty services, this Medical Assistant will support primary care only. The ideal candidate will have prior Medical Assistant training in an outpatient, primary care setting.
Summary:
This role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.

Essential Functions
-Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
-Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
-Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
-Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms. Acts as a liaison with other departments and advocates for patients with a positive customer service approach.
-Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
-Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean and supplies stocked.
-Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred

Certified Medical Assistant - preferred

Experience
Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred

Strongly Preferred:

  • Medical Assistant Course or diploma program or a minimum of 1 year professional experience
  • National MA Certification via AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT
  • Epic experience
  • Ambulatory/Outpatient experience
