  • Leads the technical evaluation and qualification of new suppliers, including on-site assessments of production capability, quality systems, and risk profile.
  • Resolves technical issues with suppliers during development and manufacturing, ensuring their processes can consistently meet our technical and quality specifications of the components.
  • Coordinates and executes strategic sourcing plans for all critical components, including make-or-buy analyses for complex or custom-fabricated components.
  • Ensures all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Conducts research to identify suppliers and manufacturing partners to develop supplier panels that support the company's long-term vision for manufacturing.
  • Assesses and mitigates supply chain risks associated with a new product, including single-source dependencies, intellectual property concerns, and geopolitical instability.

  • Minimum of 8 years of technical procurement and/or supply chain experience.
  • Experience with customdesigned or highly engineered equipment, ideally in nuclear, power generation, heavy industrial, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Working knowledge of ASME codes and standards (e.g., Section III, Section VIII, NQA1, NOG-1) or equivalent quality frameworks.
  • Technical evaluation skills, including supplier capability assessment, bid evaluation, and design compliance review.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes such as machining, welding, pressureboundary fabrication, and inspection methods.
  • Ability to interface with engineering teams to translate design intent into procurement requirements and supplier deliverables.
  • Experience supporting procurement or engineering activities within a nuclear facility, DOE project, or commercial nuclear vendor, including Advanced Reactors or Small Modular Reactors.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, change control, and nonconformance resolution processes.
  • Knowledge of material traceability, quality documentation packages, and supplier surveillance practices.
  • Experience with projectbased procurement, including schedule integration and risk management.
  • Exposure to complex engineered systems such as heat exchangers, pumps, pressure vessels, remotehandling equipment, or fuel handling equipment.
