Job Description

Under direct or general supervision, setup, operates and monitors basic video capturing and recording equipment at test sites or in fixed wing aircraft or helicopters while in flight. Performs basic electrical troubleshooting, assembly, and repair of various cables / connectors. Assists in the setup and operation of television instrumentation equipment to record scientific data of test related projects. This includes single and multiple instrumentation setups. Transfers recorded information onto appropriate media as required. Provides guidance to junior technicians. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

Pay Rate:$30.11

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

*Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

*Must have one of the following: 2 years' experience in a related field, OR 1 year in section OR directly related Trade School / Military training AND 1 year experience in a related field.

Physical Requirements:

*Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.

*May be require to have applicable flight physicals and maintain ability to fly on test aircraft.

*Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.

*Must be capable of working in extreme adverse outdoor weather conditions for extended periods of time.

*Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs unassisted.

*Must be capable of kneeling and standing for long periods of time.

*Must be tolerant of frequent weapon firings.

*Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.

*Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.

*Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.

*Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.

*Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

*Intermediate skills in digital video and digital processing.

*Working knowledge of electronics and computer systems.

*Military training.

*Commercial Drivers License.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

*Must be a U.S. Citizen.

*Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.

*Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
