Job Description
The Project Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Department of Leadership, Career, and Workforce Development, with a primary focus on advancing the work of the Advanced Workforce Center (AWC) and Strategic Partnerships. This position is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and supporting cross-functional projects that align workforce development initiatives, employer partnerships, and institutional priorities. The Project Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders across academic units, enrollment management, career services, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, comfort working with data and systems, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Project Management & Coordination
- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects related to workforce development initiatives, employer partnerships, and AWC programming
- Develop and maintain project timelines, task lists, deliverables, and documentation
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, capture notes, and track action items to ensure follow-through
- Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks and escalate issues as appropriate
Strategic Partnerships Support
- Assist with the coordination and tracking of strategic partnership activities, including employer engagement, MOUs, and program launches
- Serve as a point of coordination between internal teams and external partners to ensure clear communication and alignment
- Support reporting and documentation related to partnership performance and outcomes
Data, Reporting & Systems
- Maintain accurate project and partnership records using Salesforce CRM and related systems
- Develop basic reports, trackers, and dashboards using Excel and Salesforce to support decision-making
- Ensure data integrity and timely updates across systems
Communication & Documentation
- Draft clear, professional written communications, including project updates, summaries, and internal documentation
- Prepare presentations, briefing materials, and reports for leadership as needed
- Support consistent communication across project teams and stakeholders
Continuous Improvement & Professional Development
- Apply project management best practices and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and workflows
- Demonstrate a willingness to pursue professional development and certification in project management and continuous improvement methodologies, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Scrum or Agile certifications, and Lean Six Sigma (Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or equivalent), as supported by the department
- Stay current on emerging tools, frameworks, and best practices relevant to project management, workforce development, and partnership-driven work

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, initiatives, or complex workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and basic data analysis
- Experience using or willingness to learn Salesforce CRM or similar customer relationship management systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience working in higher education, workforce development, or partnership-driven environments
- Familiarity with project management methodologies or tools
- Prior experience supporting cross-functional teams or external partners
Anticipated Hiring Range
