Qualifications


Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) full-time increasingly responsible professional health program work including, at least, one year of full-time supervisory work or statewide program oversite.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in a business or health related field may be substituted, on a year-for-year basis, for one year of the required nonsupervisory experience.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Additional qualifying professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for year basis, to a maximum of four years.

Necessary Special Qualifications: A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.

Overview

The Public Health Program Dir 1 will lead and coordinate tobacco-prevention initiatives across our 12 counties in the region. This role includes developing community-focused tobacco-prevention strategies, supporting youth councils, and creating or identifying appropriate educational curricula. The position will also ensure that each county submits timely reports on its tobacco-prevention activities.

Responsibilities

The Program Director will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing opioid-abuse prevention curricula, for both youth and adults. As opioid overdoses continue to rise in our region, this role will be essential in shaping and guiding prevention efforts across all counties.

TN Driver Standards
