Experienced Paralegal sought for fast-paced, exciting work environment. This position participates as a team member in our actively growing Affordable Housing practice. This team is working on some of the most cutting edge and high-profile affordable housing transactions in the market. The ideal candidate will provide critical support to attorneys in all phases of real estate transactions. This role is ideal for a candidate with substantial real estate experience who is ready to take on more complex assignments and collaborate directly with clients, title companies, and counterparties. Location: New York, NY * Review title documents, surveys, and title commitments, prepare title, survey objection letters, and respond to title and survey comments from counterparties. * Perform due diligence, coordinate, and implement transactions and work with the team to close affordable housing transactions. * Work with vendors to order various due diligence items, including litigation, UCC and bankruptcy searches and review and prepare summary reports. * Work directly with title companies and surveyors to resolve issues and finalize title policies for transactions. * Use project management tools and techniques to assist with work plans, budgeting and tracking. * Track transaction tasks and phases and communicate progress to the team as issues and/or items are resolved. * Prepare signature page packets and coordinate signatures of and execution by various deal participants. * Assist attorneys with closing logistics and preparation for closings, including managing checklists and assembling documents. * Prepare closing indices and binders and handling all aspects the post-closing process. * Conduct research and gather information using general and legal research tools. * Perform other responsibilities as client needs dictate. In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on an array of factors, including but not limited to: work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications.
