Title: Post Doctoral Research Associate - the Stratton Lab Executive Area: Academic Affairs College/School/MBU: College of Natural Sciences Department: Biochemistry/Molecular Biology Work Location: Amherst Schedule:Full time Work Arrangement:Onsite Job Summary A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Margaret Stratton at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. We seek a motivated and creative scientist to lead projects at the interface of structural biology, biochemistry, and cell signaling, with a particular focus on protein kinases and phosphorylation-dependent regulatory mechanisms. Our work aims to uncover the molecular basis of signaling processes that control neuronal function, fertility, and human disease. Essential Functions Perform research in the area of structural biology, protein purification, and assay development. Other Functions Work collaboratively and effectively to promote teamwork, equality and inclusiveness. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience in cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, or related structural approaches is preferred. Working Conditions Work is performed in a laboratory or healthcare setting and may involve exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases. Requires standing for extended periods of time and/or use of protective gear. Work Schedule and Work Arrangement Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Depending on experimental schedules, weekend or evening work may be required. Salary Information Salary minimum is determined by collective bargaining agreement based on years of experience. Salary may exceed the floor and will be determined by the PI (final salary will be stated in offer letter).
