Overview:

Global Power Components is a privately held, rapidly growing manufacturer of UL heavy-gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures housing fully integrated electrical distribution and control systems. Operating from our newly expanded 300,000 sq. ft. facility, we continue to invest in people, technology, and process excellence as the recognized leader in our industry. As we scale operations and continue to optimize our manufacturing systems, we are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support production execution, improve operational performance, and strengthen ERP-driven manufacturing processes.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with 5-15 years of experience to support and improve manufacturing operations in a fast-paced engineered-to-order (ETO) environment. This role will focus on production support, process optimization, routing accuracy, labor efficiency, and cross-functional execution between Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing experience along with Epicor ERP expertise to help drive process discipline, accurate data flow, and scalable operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for fabrication, welding, paint, assembly, and final integration operations.
  • Translate customer drawings, specifications, and engineered designs into effective manufacturing plans and routings.
  • Develop and maintain bills of materials, labor standards, routings, and work instructions within Epicor ERP.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve throughput, reduce waste, and increase quality and on-time delivery.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement practical corrective actions that minimize downtime.
  • Partner with Production leaders to improve scheduling readiness, material flow, and shop floor execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives involving labor efficiency, cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and workflow improvements.
  • Audit ERP data integrity related to jobs, methods, materials, and production costing.
  • Support new product introductions, custom orders, and engineering changes from release through production.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Design Engineering on plant-wide initiatives.
  • Assist in fixture design, tooling improvements, automation opportunities, and capital equipment projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across the operation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5-15 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Hands-on Epicor ERP experience strongly preferred (routing creation, BOMs, job methods, costing, production transactions, engineering changes, or process optimization).
  • Experience in metal fabrication, welding, heavy equipment, power systems, or engineered-to-order manufacturing highly preferred.
  • Strong ability to read technical drawings, fabrication prints, and customer specifications.
  • Experience creating SOPs, standard work, routings, and scalable manufacturing documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, root cause analysis, and CI tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively between office and shop floor teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced growth environment.
  • CAD experience is a plus.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Improved shop floor execution and fewer production disruptions
  • Accurate routings, BOMs, and manufacturing data inside Epicor ERP
  • Better labor efficiency and production throughput
  • Reduced rework, waste, and schedule delays
  • Stronger coordination between Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain
  • Scalable systems to support continued company growth
