Summary of Job Duties:The Neurodiagnostic Technologist is responsible for conducting procedures including, but not limited to, electroencephalograms (EEG), nerve conduction studies, (NCS), EMGs and electronystagmograms (ENG) , intraoperative monitoring, and clipping and archiving studies. Responsibilities include timely completion of daily patient testing, accurate documentation and charges of patient testing, and physical maintenance of clinical testing equipment. The technologist will perform standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic procedures, including all aspects of EEG, multiple modalities of evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, quantitative sensory testing, and epilepsy monitoring. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or High School Diploma/GED and two years' experience in a health care setting for new hires.
  • Registered Technologist or must be willing to become a Registered Technologist through ABRET within 5 years of hire.
  • Experience preferred but will provide OTJ training.
  • Registered Technologist or must be willing to become a Registered Technologist through ABRET within 5 years of hire.
  • BLS.

Job Requirements:

  • Performing electroencephalograms (EEGs) to record brain activity
  • Preparing patients for neurodiagnostic procedures
  • Applying electrodes and monitoring equipment correctly
  • Monitoring patients during tests and observing abnormalities
  • Assisting physicians in diagnosing neurological disorders
  • Conducting evoked potential (EP) studies and nerve conduction testing
  • Monitoring brain and nervous system activity during surgeries (intraoperative monitoring)
  • Performing sleep studies in some settings
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and test documentation
  • Troubleshooting and calibrating neurodiagnostic equipment
  • Explaining procedures and providing patient education
  • Identifying seizure activity or other neurological abnormalities
  • Ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures
  • Following infection control and HIPAA regulations
  • Communicating test results and observations to physicians
  • Perform other duties as needed.
