The Department of Biology at the University of Virginia's College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, seeks applications for a full-time Lab Assistant to support the research of Dr. Katja Kasimatis. The Kasimatis Lab studies the evolutionary genomics of sexual conflict using the Caenorhabditis nematode model system (www.conflictgenomics.com). The Assistant will work directly with Dr. Kasimatis to support research in the lab located in the Physical Life Sciences Building. For more information, please visit: Department of Biology. Physical Demands: This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring fine finger manipulation. This position is located in Charlottesville, VA. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. Anticipated Hiring Range: $19-$21 per hour commensurate with education and experience. This is a non-exempt level, benefited position.
