Job Description

Summary
Provides strategic leadership and overall vision for the Office of Student Engagement in support of the University & Student Affairs Division mission and strategic priorities. Charged with assessing and managing programming areas to prevent risk in the areas of Student Organizations, Campus Activities Programming Board, and student community spaces. Responsible for executing administrative tasks and providing educational, service, social, and leadership development programs for more than 600 student organizations and the undergraduate and graduate student population. Coordinates large-scale signature programs. Responsible for the supervision of programming area staff including Assistant Directors, Coordinators, and student employees. Serves as the main student programming contact for campus partners, students, faculty, and staff.

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership and vision for student organization development, student community center spaces, and the Campus Activities Programming Board (CAPB). Assess areas regularly and utilize information to make data-informed decisions. Review and evaluate policies and procedures to ensure they are student centered and support the MU strategic goals and mission.
  • Provide staff supervision and programmatic oversight to 4 student community center spaces that build connections through education, leadership, and programming.
  • Provide fiscal oversight for area budgets consisting of student fees. Provide advisement to the student board charged with allocating funds to more than 600 student organizations.
  • Coordinate and implement large-scale programs for the campus. Work with campus partners to ensure that programmatic efforts align with University values and meet the needs of students.
  • Oversee the training, development, and advisement of more than 600 Sponsored and Registered Student Organizations, the Campus Activities Programming Board, and the Student Organization Resources Board.
  • Regularly assess risk associated with student organizations, and programmatic efforts including, but not limited to, contracts and student organization travel.
  • Engage, champion, and execute Divisional efforts in accordance with the T.I.G.E.R.S. Framework.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Shift

40 hours per week

This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $70,512.00 - $92,000.00
Grade: GGS 012
