Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Distributed Controls Systems Engineer to support the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) in advancing groundbreaking nuclear energy solutions that power the nation's future. In this role, you will focus on designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting distributed control systems (DCS) critical to the ATR's operations. You will evaluate, design, and maintain control system architecture to ensure robust system performance and operational readiness. Additionally, you will develop and document procedures for the installation, modification, and operation of control systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. Your expertise will help identify and resolve system issues, provide technical oversight for system upgrades, and support the integration of new technologies. Collaborating with facility operations and maintenance teams, you will ensure that DCS infrastructure meets evolving research and operational needs, while maintaining the system's configuration management and technical baseline. Your contributions will be instrumental in enabling ATR to continue driving innovations that secure America's energy independence. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. Job Information: Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Advanced Test Reactor facility with every Friday off.
