ASSISTANT CLINICAL PROFESSOR in SOCIAL WORK

The Orien Levy Woolf Division of Social Work at Texas Woman's University (TWU) invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position (non-tenure-track), starting in Fall 2026. This position is based at the Denton campus, conveniently located 40 miles north of the bustling Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Division, offering both bachelor's and master's degrees in Social Work, is part of the School of Social Work, Psychology, and Philosophy within the College of Arts and Sciences.

JOB DESCRIPTION: We seek a dynamic clinician-educator committed to excellence in teaching and student mentorship. This position is designed for a candidate who brings current Social Work field practice experience into the classroom and contributes to preparing students for ethical, competent, and culturally responsive social work practice.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in social work practice

  • Providing supervision of students in field education

  • Integrating current evidence-based interventions and ethical decision-making into instruction

  • Mentoring students in professional development and licensure preparation

  • Collaborating with field agencies and community partners to support student learning

  • Participating in service to the program, university, and profession

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program with a minimum of two years of post-master's practice experience

  • A Doctorate in Social Work or a related field.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and community partners.

Preferred:

  • Candidates within 1 year of completing their doctoral degree will also be considered.

  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
