| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
Fraternity & Sorority Life enhances the academic experience, holistic development, and civic contribution of students by providing effective services and developmental opportunities that enrich the Carolina experience.
FSL staff advocate for the fraternal movement by educating, advising, and empowering fraternities and sororities and their members to live according to their organizational values and contribute to the University and greater community. The fraternity and sorority community at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill consists of 58 social and service-based fraternities and sororities, representing four different councils, which compose approximately 20% of the undergraduate population. |
| Position Summary |
- Report to professional staff under the leadership of the Director, and serve as a member of
UNC Student Affairs Oversees summer orientation for
FSL
Assist with the development and organization of the annual Presidents Leadership Academy, Chapter Excellence Awards program, and other educational/training programs
- Assist with data collection and the evaluation and assessment of programs and services provided by
FSL
-Oversee AI initiatives within
FSL
- Other duties as assigned or of special interest to the graduate assistant, including health/wellness promotion and violence prevention education (Interpersonal Violence, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Eating Disorders, etc.) |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
| Management Preferences |
Enrollment in a higher education graduate program;
Membership in a Greek-lettered organization or experience working with fraternities and sororities;
Has held a leadership position on a council executive board |

| Campus Security Authority Responsibilities |
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities. |
