Description

On-Call Acupuncturist | Central City Concern | Portland, OR

Bring your practice where it matters most
This is not a traditional acupuncture role. At Central City Concern (CCC), you'll use your skills on the front lines... supporting individuals navigating homelessness, substance use, and complex medical and behavioral health needs. Your work directly helps stabilize withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, improve sleep, and create moments of calm in environments where that's often hard to find.

Why this role stands out:

  • Purpose-driven care ...Deliver acupuncture in detox, residential, and outpatient settings where the impact is immediate and meaningful
  • Integrated team model ...Collaborate alongside medical, behavioral health, and recovery professionals in a truly holistic care environment
  • Flexible, dynamic work ...Float across sites like Hooper Detox, Blackburn Center, and Letty Owings... no two shifts look the same

What you'll do:
Provide acupuncture treatments, complete assessments, and support care plans for patients with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and chronic medical needs. You'll help manage symptoms like cravings, anxiety, and insomnia while contributing to a trauma-informed, culturally responsive care environment.

What you bring:
Licensure in Oregon, strong grounding in Chinese medicine (including detox protocols), and the ability to engage patients with empathy, professionalism, and sound clinical judgment... especially in high-acuity, fast-moving settings.
