Responsibilities & Expectations:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Parts Cleaner & Painter to join our team. In this role, it is important that you are up to the task of cleaning, stripping and painting parts involved in our array of industrial electrical and construction jobs.

  • Properly clean - removing grease, dirt, and rust from a variety of components and prepare for painting, using techniques such as sandblasting, polishing, and other methods.
  • Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
  • Apply coatings with all types of spray equipment to meet coverage and gloss standards. Be able to correct errors in application of all types of coatings.
  • Paint the parts and fixtures, and understand the acceptable quality of finish.
  • Inspect parts prior to painting. Cleans painting equipment and tools after painting.
  • Follow all procedures for a quality, lasting paint finish.
  • Be able to mix and spray all products used - including coatings, thinners, and catalysts - to correct mixture, using color mixture equipment.
  • Maintain spray equipment to meet operational standards.
  • Follow hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedures.
  • Maintain personal work area in a neat and organized manner that promotes efficient workmanship
  • Maintain inventory on paint and paint supplies.
  • Provides feedback and input into the parts cleaning and painting processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, as well as maintenance of tools and machinery.
  • Produces accurate work that is of high quality.
  • Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Prior experience in parts cleaning/ painting in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Experience with different types of painting equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to mix paint colors according to specifications
  • No formal qualification is required, but a high school diploma is preferred
  • 2 year technical school or job-related certifications are a plus.
  • Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, using required hand tools, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Ability to perform math calculations using basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm during stressful situations.
  • Ability to take direction and act independently. Must also be able to work well with a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to make quick decisions.
  • Must be willing to follow standard safety practices in performing job tasks.
  • Must show a history of being reliable and dependable. Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment and work around industrial equipment.
  • Be willing to work both indoors & outdoors.
  • Driving is sometimes a needed function of this role.
  • Must be willing to confidently submit to the background and drug screening process.

Pay Rate Details: $37.00-$42.00 per hour
