THE ROLE

Apply sound judgment and discretion to address business challenges by analyzing processes and environments and leveraging technology across business units. Lead software development efforts throughout the lifecycle, focusing on advanced software creation while adhering to established standards and best practices. Serving as a technical lead in an Agile environment for small to midsized projects, the candidate collaborates with product owners, business analysts, and quality assurance teams to deliver solutions within tight deadlines. Establish, document, and enforce technical standards and best practices throughout all project phases.

In collaboration with Product Owners, Analysts and Operations stakeholders, this role will deliver technical solutions that transform the way MFS ingests and processes cash flows, strengthens cash and collateral controls, and improves transparency across key cash views (e.g., trade-date, settlement-date, tradable, and encumbered/collateral cash). In addition, you will evaluate existing processes and technology to define and implement a scalable future target state for the highly customized and growing Retail SMA business.

You will function as a leader in an Agile environment for small to midsized projects, collaborating with globally distributed teams to deliver solutions within tight deadlines. The candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead projects from inception to completion, including interpreting business requirements, analyzing technical environments, mapping requirements to design, coding, debugging, and unit testing.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and end users to evaluate business needs and select optimal technologies.
  • Drive the adoption of AI and Copilot technologies to enhance solution quality and delivery efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and assist System Architects in evaluating and selecting new products.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Document code and processes to support system maintenance and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate a thorough understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Create and improve processes, examine workflows, and recommend ways to increase efficiency and standardize practices across projects.
  • Provide ongoing process support, including on-call responsibilities.
  • Participate in the development community of practice to promote innovation and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5-6+ years of experience in Financial Services supporting Operations, Trading or Investment systems
  • Experience or familiarity with Microsoft AI ecosystem, including Azure OpenAI / Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio, and Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Strong experience in one or more development languages/platforms (C#, .NET, Java, Python, React/Angular)
  • Experience building integrations with multi-tiered third-party systems (cloud and on premises)
  • Experience designing or integrating AI-driven workflows, including intelligent document and email processing, case management, and human-in-the-loop automation
  • Strong experience with data platforms (Snowflake, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server)
  • Experience working in a continuous integration / CI-CD environment (preferably Azure DevOps or equivalent)
  • Experience working within a mature SDLC model, collaborating with BA, QA, and end users to deliver solutions
  • Proven ability to analyze operational workflows and identify automation opportunities across Investment Operations processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to make independent decisions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience supporting front-office and operations stakeholders

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Domain expertise in cash processing and collateral management, including trade-date and settlement-date cash, margining (initial and variation margin), collateral eligibility, haircuts, and optimization across cleared and bilateral exposures
  • Knowledge of global settlement, payments, and reconciliation processes (e.g., T+1), including fails management, netting, and cash/collateral reconciliations across custodians, IBOR/ABOR, fund accounting, and counterparties
  • Experience with SMA business models and operational workflows, including end to end implementation of Portfolio Manager strategy changes for both Model Delivery and SMA Manager traded accounts, onboarding, reconciliations, rotations, technology solutions, and interaction with sponsor platforms
  • Experience working with platforms such as Charles River, Eagle, Acadia Margin Manager, Murex or Calypso are a plus.

Base Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $158,500.00 This position is eligible for competitive incentive bonus.

This range reflects our good-faith expectation forwhat we'll pay depending on the candidate's experience, training and education. In addition to the salary, we also offer significant and competitive incentive compensationbased on both individual and company performance. Other components of our Total Rewards Package include:

  • MFS contributes an amount equal to 15% of your base salary to your retirement account that is separate from the company -sponsored 401(k)
