Senior Software Systems Engineer

Location: Newington, NH | Salary: $129,000 | Direct Hire

Seeking a Software Engineer to design and develop secure, high-performance software solutions that support advanced fiber optic communication networks.

This role focuses on building software that interacts with real-world optical systems, supporting system simulation, automation, diagnostics, and secure network services used in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for fiber optic communication systems
• Translate system requirements into scalable, reusable software features
• Develop and support secure RESTful and OpenConfig API services
• Build automated unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability
• Diagnose and resolve software defects, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities
• Support system simulation and correlate software performance with physical optical behavior
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve system functionality and reliability
• Participate in ongoing system maintenance and operational support

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering, or related field
• Strong understanding of fiber optic communication systems and physical system behavior
• Proficiency in C++, C#, SQL, and modern web technologies (ReactJS preferred)
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, OpenConfig/Open API standards, and Linux (Red Hat preferred)
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and source control systems
• Understanding of software security fundamentals and secure coding practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a technical environment
