DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
This position supports the Income Maintenance programs by completing clerical work that helps ensure accurate and timely processing. The role is essential in keeping office operations organized and responsive. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Bilingual Communication: Use Spanish and English skills to communicate clearly with clients, staff, and the public
- Data Entry Tasks: Input and review information in Client Information System (CIS) and other systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Application Processing: Handle applications by importing, registering, and routing them according to procedures
- Inquiry Reviews: Interpret documents, complete transactions, and communicate results within deadlines
- Reception Support: Greet visitors, track appointments, and assist with general public interactions
- Mail Handling: Sort, scan, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and related materials

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a 1-hour lunch.
- Travel and overtime as needed.

- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes). -

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- This position requires the selected candidate to be able to read, write, and speak in Spanish. You may be contacted for a Spanish speaking proficiency valuation conducted by the Bureau of Talent Acquisition, PA Office of Administration. If contacted, you must pass the speaking evaluation in order to be deemed eligible for this position. Your proficiency in reading and writing in Spanish must be demonstrated during the probationary period to achieve regular status in the position.
- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Luzerne County. If no eligible candidates who live within Luzerne County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
