THE POSITION

Are you interested in building valuable financial skills while contributing to efficient payment processes? The Bureau of Payable Services is looking for an Invoice Processor 1 to play an important role supporting agencies by reviewing invoices and helping payments move smoothly through the system. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays a key role in checking invoices and making sure payments follow all required rules and procedures. Your work supports accurate financial processing for agencies and vendors across the Commonwealth. As an Invoice Processor 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Invoice Review: Examine vendor and grantee invoices to ensure they meet legal and administrative requirements
  • Workflow Processing: Access SAP Workflow to compare invoice details with purchase orders or funding documents
  • Data Entry: Enter invoice information into enterprise systems and confirm that vendor details and coding are correct
  • Issue Resolution: Research duplicate or incorrect invoices and document reasons for rejections when needed
  • System Management: Use Oracle and DocFinity to process, verify, and route invoices to the correct workflow queues
  • Invoice Indexing: Complete accurate indexing of invoices in Intelligent Capture so they reach the proper processing group

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. AWS (alternate work schedule) may be available upon completion of probationary period.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
  • An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have at least one year of SAP experience.
  • You must have at least one year of accounts payable experience.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
