Job Summary

The Merchandiser is responsible for maintaining product availability, merchandising standards, and brand presentation across assigned retail accounts. This role ensures products are properly stocked, rotated, displayed, and organized in both large and small format stores while delivering exceptional customer service. The Merchandiser works closely with Account Sales Managers and store personnel to support sales growth, maintain promotional displays, and ensure compliance with merchandising standards. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, dependable, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced field environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Service assigned retail accounts by stocking, rotating, and merchandising products according to company standards.
  • Move product from back stock to shelves, displays, and cold vault locations as needed.
  • Ensure all products are displayed in compliance with shelf schematics and merchandising guidelines.
  • Build and maintain permanent and temporary promotional displays.
  • Review product code dates during each account visit and remove damaged, expired, or unsellable product.
  • Notify appropriate personnel regarding out-of-stock items, damaged products, or product returns.
  • Ensure cold equipment, racks, and point-of-sale materials are clean, current, and professionally maintained.
  • Assist Account Sales Managers with display setup and route support as needed.
  • Cover sales or merchandising routes when required.
  • Monitor competitor activities including pricing changes and new product launches and communicate findings to management.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers to support sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in sales meetings and support overall sales and merchandising initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior beverage, retail, merchandising, or sales experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Reliable personal vehicle with required insurance coverage required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • DOT Medical Card required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Good organizational and basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned routes effectively.
  • Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and flexible schedules as needed.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and active retail environments.


Work Experience



  • Experience in merchandising, retail sales, beverage distribution, or route service preferred.
  • Experience building displays and maintaining retail product presentation preferred.
