DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Process bi-weekly hourly, salaried, and executive payrolls.
  • Review and ensure accurate computation of pay while interpreting company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
  • Respond timely to all team member payroll questions and concerns. Handle payroll adjustments in a timely manner to ensure resolution of team member claims, compliance with governmental regulations and maximization of employee level of understanding.
  • Ensure the accurate interfacing and translation of data through all HRIS and payroll systems, including resolution of issues with payroll vendor to provide a maximum level of employee satisfaction and integrity of reporting data.
  • Post payroll entries in accounting system.
  • Oversee garnishments/withholding orders process. Resolve timely any discrepancies between company and 3rd party vendor.
  • Actively participate in the audit and streamlining of all payroll processing techniques.
  • Participate in the implementation of all system enhancements to improve payroll efficiencies
  • Provide special reporting to the Risk Management team for Workers Compensation.
  • Prepare and file Railroad Tax both quarterly and annually.
  • Prepare and file Census Reporting for the Bureau of Labor Statistics as required.
  • Maintain daily manual payroll checks, pay cards, voids, and adjustments, as requested.
  • Communicate and coordinate the yearly SUI rates with outside vendors.
  • Participate in all year-end activities including but not limited to W2-processing and correction of information, tax changes, system updates for the upcoming year, etc.
  • Act as liaison between business units, ADP, government entities, and 3rd party vendors
  • Comply and stay updated with applicable laws and all Seaboard Corporation and subsidiary policies.
  • Support and provide backup for PR personnel in the divisions as needed to include full cycle PR processing.
  • Backup accounting staff as required.
  • Perform various tasks in the absence of the Payroll Systems Manager as directed.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 2 year degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of job-related experience are required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Knowledge of PR processes is required. ADP/UKG specific is helpful.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to learn new technologies/features.
  • Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organizational structure.
  • Ability to take large volumes of data and produce a result.
  • Must be able to follow the correct processes and procedures to produce payroll data timely and accurately.
  • Must be able to identify a problem and take the necessary steps to correct it and avoid errors in the future.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between business units and ADP.
  • Must be trustworthy as this position has access to confidential data.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to lead and accomplish projects with little to no supervision.
