HIRING RANGE: $30.58 - $32.41 hourly (will take affect after July 1st)
*** $27.33 - $28.97 (if hired before July 1st, 2026. Hourly rate will change to the range above after July 1st, 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports utilizing appropriate accounting procedures. This position requires significant professional accounting experience, advanced analytical and problem solving skills, and a high level of independent judgment. The role provides strategic and technical support for budgeting and grant administration. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Perform accounting functions impacting the College's financial records, including preparing and reviewing complex journal entries, analyzing system generated financial data, and conducting comprehensive account and departmental reconciliations to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance. 2. Assist in the development, interpretation, and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; evaluate existing practices and recommend enhancements to strengthen financial stewardship, compliance, and operational efficiency in alignment with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and Board policies. 3. Analyze financial data which includes developing forecasts, plans, processes, reports, statements, recommendations, and ensuring accuracy of the financial data. 4. Prepare any necessary regulatory reporting and comply with applicable federal, state, and local agreements and regulations. 5. Assist with the review of departmental financial operations to identify risks, inefficiencies, or internal control gaps and identify improvements to develop best practices and to find ways to run efficiently. 6. Prepare, monitor, and adjust budgets and assist in the College's annual budgeting process. 7. Maintains the College's capital asset records including fixed asset capitalization, disposals, and assists with year-end closing. 8. Prepare required monthly reports for the Board of Trustees meetings. 9. Use analytical skills to resolve questions or problems that may arise. 10. Performs various accounting duties related to the College's year-end closing process, annual audits, and periodic grant monitoring visits. 11. Attend seminars as needed to keep current with issues related to college financial issues. Establish and maintain grant awards in Workday, which includes the set-up of funding sources, cost centers, and financial reporting requirements for each grant award. Assists with compliance with government regulations, donor restrictions, and college policies with each grant award. 12. Perform other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or an Associate's Degree and four (4) years of relevant work experience. 2. Intermediate personal computer and technology skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with ability to create formulas. 3. Excellent mathematical and computational skills. 4. Ability to apply strong problem-solving techniques. 5. Ability to effectively work under minimal supervision. 6. Ability to work effectively with a diverse population, courteous, dependable, and personable with effective verbal and written communication skills. 7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence. 8. Experience with Workday software. 2. Four (4) years of accounting experience 3. Prior experience working in an educational environment. 4. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency. 5. Demonstrated multicultural competence. PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Normal office physical demands.
