Registered Nurses in the Pediatric Clinic and Pediatric Infusion Room of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at UC Davis Medical Center provide care to pediatrics and adolescent and young adult patients with a variety of medical needs. Patient conditions include oncology and non-oncology diagnoses (hematology, oncology, endocrine, rheumatology, gastrointestinal, genetic, renal, neurologic, pain/palliative and pulmonary disorders). The Cancer Center Pediatric Nurse Manager reports to Clinical Director of Oncology Services and collaborates with the Executive Director of Oncology Services and Medical Director of Pediatrics to support the excellence and functioning of the Pediatrics and Adolescent and Young Adult programs as a whole. The Pediatrics Nurse Manager has direct oversight and responsibility for the RNs (CNII, CN III Infusion Nurses and Case Managers) in Pediatrics and indirect oversight for the Medical Assistants, Child Life Specialists, Dietitians, and Social Workers that work within the unit. The Pediatric Nurse Manager interacts with the entire multidisciplinary clinical team, including, interaction with Davis 7 Nurse Manager and staff, PICU Nurse Manager and staff, Adult Clinic Nurse Manager, AN II and staff, Adult Infusion Nurse Manager, ANII and Staff, Radiation Oncology Nurse Manager and Staff, Cancer Center Admin Director, Cancer Center supervisors, physicians and nurse practitioners to assure clinical excellence and smooth coordination of patient care. Programmatically, the Pediatric Nurse Manager will assist in the growth and development, expansion or new program offerings including, but not limited to additional weekend hours, additional weekday hours, Adolescent Young Adult program, cellular therapy for Pediatrics, Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant, etc. Apply By Date: May 27th, 2026 at 11:59pm PST. Department Overview The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies. The Nurse Manager will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The Nurse Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, supports research, participates in both long- and short-term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy.
