ROLE OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible to operate straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor type vehicles equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, in order to load trucks or feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes.

The typical schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM during production season. Typical schedule during maintenance season is four ten-hour shifts. The schedule may vary due to weather and customer demand.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)



  1. Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.
  2. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material.
  3. Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
  4. Load trucks as directed.
  5. Assists in plant maintenance as directed.
  6. Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  7. Inspect plant for necessary maintenance and help complete repairs as assigned.
  8. Operate hand tools and safety equipment including, but not limited to grease guns, wrenches, shovels, fire hoses, and cutting torches.
  9. Be able to work at heights and in the elements cold, heat, wind and rain.
  10. Obey all safety rules and work in a safe manner. (Federal, state, and company policies.)
  11. Be self-motivated and able to work alone or as a team in a friendly & cooperative manner.
  12. Assist with all ready-mix plant operations as directed by plant operator of supervisor.
  13. Be receptive to ongoing education and training.
  14. Operate a motor vehicle safely and follow all laws and policies.
  15. Communicate inspection and safety concerns to supervisor or plant operator.
  16. Perform routine plant and yard clean up as needed.
  17. Assist with unloading material.
  18. Operator manlift, forklift, and tele- handler safely as needed.
  19. Assist with onsite operations safely such as temp loads, back trucks up, and added various productions to loads.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned.




      MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)



      1. Less than high school education, or
      2. Up to one-month related experience or training, or
      3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
      4. Driver's license preferred.
