About the Opportunity

The Senior Accountant of Affiliated Entities supports the accounting function across multiple affiliated entities, including Argen Financial Services, Argen Properties, Hatch Technology Solutions, and the Family Office. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial statements, supporting growth in the equipment loan and collections functions, managing real estate accounting, and overseeing family office financial activities. The position will also provide financial analysis and transaction support for mergers and acquisitions on a project basis. Responsibilities include maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring financial reporting is completed in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records and statements across multiple affiliated entities, including general ledger, income statement, and balance sheet preparation.
  • Maintain and reconcile intercompany and related-party accounts, including loans to and from affiliated entities.
  • Support the growth and scaling of loan and collections operations by contributing to process improvements, reporting enhancements, and internal controls.
  • Reconcile loan sub-ledgers to the general ledger and support portfolio-level reporting.
  • Record rental income, tenant billings, and other property-related revenues.
  • Track and record property-level expenses, capital expenditures, and accruals.
  • Reconcile property bank accounts and prepare property-level financial reports.
  • Record payments to owners, distributions, and capital contributions within the family office structure.
  • Prepare schedules and documentation to support tax filings and external advisors for family office activities.
  • Record Hatch Technology Solutions expenses and process vendor payments.
  • Track and maintain supporting documentation for Hatch Technology Solutions capitalized expenses.
  • Collaborate with other Argen subsidiaries on intercompany transactions related to Hatch Technology Solutions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for Hatch Technology Solutions.
  • Reconcile Hatch Technology Solutions balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with Hatch Technology Solutions month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Analyze and explain Hatch Technology Solutions income statement and balance sheet fluctuations.
  • Provide audit and tax support for Hatch Technology Solutions through the preparation of accurate schedules, reports, and documentation.
  • Support tax return preparation for Hatch Technology Solutions shareholders by providing backup documentation to external tax preparers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What does it take to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum five to seven years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • At least one year of experience in lending, loan accounting, or financial services preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in real estate or property accounting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple entities and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Experience supporting multi-entity structures and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and financial integration support.
  • Proven ability to streamline processes and improve efficiency through automation or system enhancements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with enterprise-level accounting ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or QAD).
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management with minimal supervision.
