About the Opportunity

The Staff Accountant supports the Finance Department in carrying out a variety of daily, weekly and monthly tasks. Provides assistance in tasks including reconciling accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring that all transactions are completed according to US GAAP regulation.

In this role, the successful candidate:

  • Posts daily bank transactions.
  • Codes and posts all credit card transactions.
  • Reviews expense reimbursement coding in the Concur system.
  • Prepares and posts journal entries and ensures accuracy of information.
  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintains the General Ledger accounts and business transactions consistent with US GAAP and Argen policies.
  • Assists with researching and posting bank transactions.
  • Ensures credit and debit memo postings are in the correct accounts.
  • Analyzes and presents reasons for income statement fluctuations.
  • Provides audit and tax support through generation of accurate reports, schedules and documents.
  • Assists with the month-end close processes, and special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What does it take to be a qualified candidate?

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent combination of relevant education and direct experience required.
  • Minimum five years' experience in accounting required.
  • Hands-on experience and understanding of US GAAP, SFAS Rules, Reporting and Analysis.
  • Must have excellent mathematical, problem-solving, time and project management skills.
  • Ability to complete tasks, meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changing priorities with minimal notice.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
  • Accounting software knowledge required, QAD preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management and with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3preferred.
