COOK 4/5 -TEMPORARY

Cook4/5 is aline cook position for individuals who are familiar with cooking principals and techniques, have a firm understanding offood safety principles, andhave the ability toidentifyandutilizeall standard cooking equipment. Daily tasks will be focused on food preparation set up, and operation of a station at one of our various food outlets according to leadership's specifications. The cook position supports SpaceX's success byprovidingquality food options that boost morale and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare food items, ensuring consistency and compliance with the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines
• Provide courteous and informative customer service in an "open kitchen" format, while ensuring that assigned station is stocked and clean
• Follow restaurant guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety, maintenance, and equipment/space cleaning requirementsat all times
• Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment

POSITION DETAILS:

This is atemporaryposition with SpaceX, for the length of time asstated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.

• LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months (permanent hire conversion is possible based on performance and business need)
• LOCATION: Cape Canaveral, FL

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• Culinary degree and 2+ years of experience in the food service industry or5+ years of experience in the food service industry

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 8+ yearsof experience in the food service industry
• Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Possession of or willingness to obtain CA food handler card
• High levelof professionalism
• Experience in a corporate environment
• Strong communicationskills, both written and verbal
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook primarily)
• Understanding of standard kitchen hierarchy and roles
• Understanding of basic cooking methods including sauce making and meat and vegetable preparations
• Sound understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Willingness to learn and take guidance from others

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
• Ability to work the following shift:
• Monday - Friday: 10:00am-10:00pm
• Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects aregenerally requiredto perform the functions of this position
• Ability to work overtime
• Weekend availability
• Ability to work holidays
• Ability tolift upto 25 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to work incontinuously-standingposition for 5+ hours
• Ability to work with hands continuously: chop, stir, scrape, scrub
• Ability to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
