Corrections Food Service Instructor - SCI Coal Township

This position supports the daily food service operations by leading and guiding inmate workers in a structured environment. You will play an important role in teaching kitchen skills and ensuring safe and orderly practices. As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will perform the following duties:

• Food Service Instruction: Teach inmates proper methods for preparing, producing, baking, and serving food
• Safety Oversight: Guide inmates in the safe and sanitary use of kitchen tools, equipment, and cleaning procedures
• Quality Control: Inspect food service areas, supplies, and meals to ensure they meet safety and sanitation standards
• Inventory Management: Receive, store, and track food items while following first in, first out procedures
• Work Supervision: Assign duties, evaluate performance, and maintain orderly conduct among inmate workers

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
• Work schedule to be determined. 12:00pm to 8:00pm or 4:30am to 12:30pm, with rotating schedule.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
