A Brief Overview

  • Evaluates the organizations jobs, documenting responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions. Performs data analysis for the Company's salary administration program. Contributes organizational data to, and analyzes results of, compensation surveys. Conducts market analysis of company jobs to determine competitive positioning of the organizations pay programs. Participates in administration of annual performance management, incentive, or salary increase programs and development of incentive or salary increase strategies. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the salary administration process and periodic cycles. Responsible for the administration and processing of wage garnishments. Prepares a variety of reports. Responds to internal and external requests for information. Maintains strict confidentiality and appropriate discretion.

    What will you do?

  • JOB ANALYSIS: Evaluates the organizations jobs, documenting responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions. Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials. Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed. Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job. Assesses jobs and their respective duties to recommend classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range. Maintains job grading data.
  • SALARY ADMINISTRATION: Performs data collection and analysis for the Company's salary administration program. Contributes organizational data to, and analyzes results of, local and national market-based compensation surveys. Conducts market analysis of company jobs to determine competitive positioning of the organizations pay programs. Benchmarks jobs against market survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position. Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses software, spreadsheets and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends. Prepares, computes and maintains job classifications and salary ranges for exempt and non-exempt jobs.
  • Participates in administration of annual performance management, incentive, or salary increase programs and development of incentive or salary increase strategies. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the salary administration process and periodic cycles. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to management.
  • REPORTING, AUDITING, AND COMPLIANCE: Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information. Assembles, organizes, computes, and analyzes special salary reports for management for use in various projects.
  • WORKDAY SME: Serves as subject matter expert for the Workday compensation system. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the data, troubleshooting issues, and reports bugs. Evaluates new features during Workday semiannual updates, and participates in the testing and implementation of new features.
  • May assist with completing quarterly and annual payroll reporting for intercompany billings and annual reporting.
  • Ensures programs comply with internal and external policies and regulations. Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations regarding compensation policies.
  • Responsible for payroll audits to verify the accuracy of pay for all hires, resignations/terminations, promotions, leaves of absence, relocation payments, and wage garnishment deductions.
  • Responds to auditor requests for information and verification of compensation changes.
  • TRAINING: Educates managers and employees and answers questions about the organization's compensation programs. Develops training and documentation related to employee compensation. Answers questions regarding payroll or Company policies or procedures from representatives of affiliated companies.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required. Mathematics, Human Resources or related field or equivalent preferred.

Experience
Five or more years related work experience.

Licenses and Certifications

SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred

Required Knowledge

  • Math (including algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics)
  • Personal computer related spreadsheet and database manipulation software

Preferred Knowledge

  • Insurance terminology
  • Human Resource laws and practices (EEO, Fair Labor Standards Act, Workers' Compensation, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, etc.)
