Position Description Summary:
The George Washington School of Nursing invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track open rank faculty position. The ideal candidate will be a nurse researcher whose area of study includes one or more of the following: symptom science, oncology, behavioral health, health policy or population health. This full-time, 9 or 12-month position is scheduled to begin as early as summer 2026. This is an on-campus, not a remote position.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program
* Maintain an ongoing record of scholarly productivity, including publications and presentations
* Teach courses as assigned
* Mentor and advise students in research
* Participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams
* Participate in faculty governance, including serving on departmental, school, and/or university committees
* and participate in a professional capacity in nursing and research organizations at the national and international level.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Earned PhD in nursing, public health, education or related field by the date of application
2. A nursing degree at any level
3. An emerging body of scholarship, as evidenced by presentations and peer-reviewed publications
4. Track record of external funding
5. Strong methodological and statistical skills
6. Prior college-level teaching experience is required, including comfort with in-person and online learning
7. Eligibility for unencumbered nursing licensure in DC and VA.
Advertised Salary: $175,000 - $225,000
