Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an associate with 1-4 years of relevant experience to join its Estate Planning Practice Group in either our Milwaukee or Madison office. The associate will support a broad range of estate planning and administration matters, including assisting with the drafting of estate planning and business succession documents for high-net-worth individuals and business owners, supporting income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning analyses, and contributing to charitable planning and tax-exempt organization matters. The role also includes involvement in estate and trust administration, including probate proceedings and fiduciary advisory work, as well as assisting in the preparation and review of federal estate and gift tax filings. This position is well suited for an associate looking to deepen their technical skill set while gaining meaningful experience and increasing levels of responsibility in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills, along with a detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple matters effectively. Candidates should have a foundational understanding of estate planning, trust and estate administration, and related tax concepts, and a demonstrated interest in developing a long-term practice in this area.

Strong academic credentials are required. Applicants must hold a JD from an ABA accredited law school and be active members in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice. Timely admission to Wisconsin Bar will be a condition of employment.

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The expected salary range for this position is between $225,000 - $310,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
