Description

The CBI Trainer delivers high-quality professional development and workforce training across diverse subject areas to support continuing education, licensure requirements, and career advancement for adult learners and industry professionals. This position requires subject matter expertise, instructional design capability, and the ability to engage learners in both technical and soft skill development. The trainer works independently and collaboratively to design, deliver, and assess training programs that meet industry standards and learner needs.


Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)

Essential Job Functions:

1. Design and deliver engaging, outcome-based training in assigned subject areas including but not limited to leadership development, technical skills, workplace competencies, industry certifications, and professional skill enhancement.

2. Develop instructional materials, curriculum guides, assessments, and learning resources that align with adult learning principles and industry best practices.

3. Facilitate in-person, hybrid and online training sessions (where appropriate) using varied instructional methodologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and professional backgrounds.

4. Assess learner performance and provide constructive feedback to support skill development and knowledge retention.

5. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in assigned content areas to ensure training relevance and accuracy.

6. Collaborate with CBI leadership and industry partners. as needed, to identify training needs and customize content areas to ensure training relevance and accuracy.

7. Document training deliver, participant completion, and continuing education units (CEUs or PDUs) in compliance with accreditation and licensure standards.

8. Maintain professional certifications and subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development.

9. Adapt training content and delivery methods based on participant feedback and learning outcomes data.

10. Support the development and continuous improvement of the CBI training portfolio through innovation and quality enhancement initiatives.

11. Other duties as assigned



Specific Functional Job Requirements

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field OR equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and demonstrated subject matter expertise. Industry certifications, licenses, or credentials in area(s) of instruction highly valued.

Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in subject area(s) of instruction, with at least 2 years in a training, teaching, or facilitation role preferred. Experience designing and delivering professional development or workforce training preferred. Demonstrated track record of staying current with industry trends and best practices required.

Knowledge:

  • Deep subject matter expertise in area(s) of instruction
  • Adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Current industry standards, trends, and regulatory requirements related to content area
  • Continuing education unit (CEU) requirements and accreditation standards
  • Assessment and evaluation methods for measuring learning outcomes
  • Technology tools and platforms for training delivery (LMS, virtual facilitation tools, etc.)
Skills:
  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills with ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Strong curriculum development and instructional design capabilities
  • Ability to adapt content and delivery methods to meet varied learner needs and contexts
  • Effective written and verbal communication for creating training materials and learner interaction
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving to address learner challenges and customize content
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple training projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with technology for both content creation and delivery
  • Assessment design and data analysis to measure training effectiveness
