Traffic / ITS Engineer (PE)
Halff has an open position for a Traffic / ITS Engineer, with a Texas PE License, to join our Traffic / ITS Engineering team based out of our Dallas office. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience conducting traffic engineering studies, traffic signal design and ITS design projects. This role will allow you the opportunity to be trained and mentored by an experienced Traffic / ITS Engineer (PE) and to gain ever increasing professional responsibility. Traffic / ITS Engineer (PE) Responsibilities:
- Works under a Team Leader (PE) to produce traffic engineering studies, traffic signal design and ITS design plans
- Manages traffic / ITS projects or tasks in support of business needs
- Assists in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT's, and technical staff
- Assists in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
- Reviews traffic engineering studies and traffic signal / ITS designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
- Reports on project progress
- Collaborates with clients and other consultants
- Assists with business development activities
Traffic / ITS Engineer (PE) Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas, or able and willing to obtain within 6 months of starting date
- At least 5 years of experience producing traffic engineering studies, traffic signal design and ITS design projects.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be self-directed yet a team player, and have focus on quality, integrity and success
- Proficiency with Synchro / SimTraffic, MicroStation, ORD and Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
- GIS capability is a plus
- IMSA II certification is preferred but not required
