This position description is designed to outline the primary duties of the role, qualifications, and job scope. Position Summary: Under general supervision, support Warn Industries' electrical needs through participating in the design and development of programmable manufacturing equipment. Apply, install, program, and support software that contributes to the advancement of state-of-the-art manufacturing. Install, repair, replace, and maintain electrical equipment, fixtures, and systems. Assist as needed in production line-down control system related issues. Assist in design and maintain automated manufacturing processes, research new opportunities and train others. Lead the organization in developmental strategies for improved automation, standardization of equipment and systems that monitor and improve processes in production. Essential Functions: 1. Participate in design of manufacturing equipment, tooling and processes that require a broad theoretical understanding and application of the physical sciences. Evolve design equipment to improve quality, cost, and reliability. 2. Contribute to the advancement of state-of-the-art manufacturing technology. Actively involved with the transition of products and manufacturing processes from prototype stage into full production. 3. Analyze new product designs, assemblies, and components to improve product reliability, quality and to ensure compatibility with manufacturing processes and cost objectives. 4. Design automation systems, utilizing PLCs, motion controls, servo/micro stepping motors, robotics, HMI & SCADA. 5. Identify and implement process monitoring/controls utilizing actuators, transducers, analog/digital measurements, and interfacing. 6. Implement machine monitoring, data logging and data processing of networked equipment. 7. Research and identify causes of technical manufacturing equipment problems. Define and implement permanent solution. 8. Use programming languages: Basic, Visual Basic, PLC Knowledge in, Siemens, GE (Emerson), Allen Bradley and Labview, CNC. 9. Generate documentation including electrical and pneumatic schematics, trouble-shooting guides, and service manuals. 10. Create electrical schematics and drawings using AutoCAD Electrical. 11. Provide required training to operators/maintenance crew. 12. Establish standardization of control systems. 13. Assemble and install electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical equipment and systems such as production machinery / fixtures. 14. Perform assigned work in compliance with National Electric Code, NFPA 70. 15. Maintain electrical log of new construction work performed. 16. Use variety of hand and power tools, and machines to perform duties. 17. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and/or electro-mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of electrical and electronic parts and components: wiring, controllers, switches, motors, PLCs, circuit boards, relays, enclosures, etc. 18. Review work requests for electrical repairs and maintenance, determine nature of problem and recommend appropriate solution. 19. May participate in Warn Industries' selection process as necessary. 20. Participate in team meetings as required (safety, problem-solving, etc.). 21. Implement the Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities. 22. Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled. 23. Work safely and without injury. 24. Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area. 25. Ability to calculate fault current for new and existing facility equipment and continuing implementation of Arc Flash Compliance. Required Education and/or Experience:
Required Qualifications:
Physical Demands: May require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. May require lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance. Language Skills: Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence in the English language. Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers while providing exceptional quality of work and outstanding customer service. Mathematical Skills: Must have basic mathematical skills equivalent to those required under education requirement. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties. Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software: Hand and power tools, electrical meters and tools, ladders, lifts, etc. Personal computer, PLC programming experience preferably with Siemens, GE (Emerson), and Allen Bradley PLC controllers; LabView Data Acquisition software. Environment/Atmospheric Conditions: This position is performed in a shop environment. Team Member in this position will be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors. Team Member will frequently be required to work outside and at heights.
