Position Highlights

The Department of Urology is seeking a highly motivated applicant for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position to be mentored by Dr. Sayyid. This challenging position requires a high level of enthusiasm, dedication, and drive for applicants interested in: health services research in urologic oncology; clinical trial design and implementation in urologic oncology; evidence synthesis, including systematic reviews, pairwise meta-analyses, and network meta-analyses; biomarker discovery and validation using spatial transcriptomics.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in the design, execution, and management
    of clinical and translational research studies in urologic oncology
  • Assist with study development, including protocol writing, IRB submissions,
    regulatory documentation, and data management plans
  • Conduct data collection, curation, quality assurance, and statistical
    analyses using clinical databases and research datasets
  • Perform systematic reviews, pairwise meta-analyses, and network
    meta-analyses in accordance with established methodological standards
  • Contribute to biomarker discovery and validation projects, including
    analyses of spatial transcriptomic data
  • Prepare abstracts, manuscripts, grant applications, and presentations for
    submission to national and international meetings and peer-reviewed journals
  • Present research findings at departmental meetings, regional conferences,
    and national scientific meetings
  • Collaborate with faculty, fellows, residents, medical students,
    biostatisticians, and external research partners
  • Participate in the design and implementation of investigator-initiated and
    cooperative group clinical trials
  • Maintain accurate research records and ensure compliance with
    institutional, regulatory, and ethical requirements
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior trainees and students involved in
    research projects

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD
    or DO degree (completed or expected prior to start date)
Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in pursuing a career in urology or academic medicine.
  • Prior clinical, translational, or health services research experience.
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SAS, SPSS).
  • Previous involvement in manuscript preparation, systematic reviews, or meta-analyses.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial methodology and regulatory processes.
  • Experience working with large clinical datasets or cancer registries.
  • Demonstrated record of research productivity, including abstracts, presentations, or peer-reviewed publications.
