THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Corrections Laundry Plant Supervisor at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Benner Township who is ready to take charge of a busy and important laundry operation. In this position, you will help manage production, train workers, and support safe and efficient processes. Your leadership will help the team meet daily demands and long-term goals. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees staff and inmate workers in the daily operations of the SCI Benner Township laundry plant and ensures that production needs are met efficiently and safely. As a Corrections Laundry Plant Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • Supervision And Training: Guide staff and inmate workers, provide training, and evaluate performance
  • Product Development Oversight: Monitor design, production quality, and material use while preparing samples and reports
  • Production Coordination: Plan schedules, maintain inventory, and ensure timely delivery of finished goods
  • Inventory And Supply Management: Oversee ordering, storage, and allocation of raw materials and equipment
  • Equipment Monitoring: Supervise installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery to ensure safe and effective use
  • Record Management: Maintain accurate production, inventory, and procurement records in accordance with standards

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,273.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Corrections Laundry Plant Foreman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in a commercial or institutional laundry operations maintaining and operating equipment, including two years of supervisory experience and graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
